Background of Critchill School
Our school was opened in 1977. It is a purpose built special school designed to educate pupils with a learning difficulty. Recently the whole school has been remodelled and updated to provide larger, lighter classrooms, specialist science, art, design technology rooms, therapy rooms, toilet and changing rooms. The school has built on its success and now accepts pupils within travelling distance of the school.
Situated on the western edge of the town of Frome, the school and Learning Support Centre share an attractive and extensive campus with a first and middle school.
Boys and girls who attend the school are normally aged between 4 and 16 years of age. In attempting to best meet their special educational needs pupils may attend on either a full time, part time or short term basis.
